Monastery of Timios Prodromos (Mount Palouki)
A historic monastery set on the green slopes of Mount Palouki, offering stunning panoramic views over Skopelos Town and the Aegean Sea. Visitors are warmly welcomed by the monastery’s caretaker and can explore the small church, light a candle, and admire handmade religious artifacts crafted on site. Surrounded by pine forest, the monastery combines tranquility, tradition, and beautiful nature. Free outdoor parking available.
Monastery of Metamorphosis tou Sotiros
A picturesque monastery surrounded by lush greenery, dating back to the late 15th–early 16th century. Built in Mount Athos architectural style, it houses an impressive old iconostasis and important icons by the renowned 17th-century Cretan iconographer Antonios Agorastos. Still active today, it holds regular services and celebrates its main feast on August 6th.
Monastery of Saint Riginos (Agios Riginos)
Dedicated to the Patron Saint of Skopelos, this important monastery is a protected monument rich in history and spirituality. The church features rare architectural elements, an 18th-century iconostasis, historic frescoes, and the saint’s tomb located just behind the monastery. Built on the site of Saint Riginos’ burial, it is one of the island’s most meaningful religious landmarks
