Yes — Skopelos Island does have public transport, and it can be a useful way to get around during your visit, though many travelers still pair it with taxis, bikes, or rentals for the fullest experience.

🚌 Public Buses on Skopelos - https://skopelostransports.gr/en/routes/
Skopelos operates a public bus service that connects its main towns, beaches, and villages along the island’s main coastal road:
Regular buses run from Skopelos Town (Chora) to places like Stafylos, Agnontas, Panormos, Milia, Elios/Neo Klima, Ftelia, and all the way to Glossa and Loutraki Port.
The bus terminal is conveniently located near the main port in Skopelos Town.
During the summer high season, buses are more frequent, often running every 30–60 minutes and stopping at many beaches and population centres.
In the low season, services still operate but with fewer departures per day, so plan ahead.
Ticket prices are affordable and usually purchased directly on board.
In 2025 the island also introduced a new local bus fleet aimed at providing a more reliable year-round service for both residents and visitors, linking Slopelos Town, beaches and villages with multiple stops across the island.
🚕 Taxis & Other Transport -
If the bus doesn’t go exactly where you want — especially for remote beaches, monasteries or hiking spots and especially AgiOS IOANNIS (MAMMA MIA CHAPEL) — Amarantos Cave - you can also rely on:
Taxis, with stands in Skopelos Town, Neo Klima/Elios, and Glossa.
Boat taxis in summer to reach coves and beaches that aren’t served by road.
🚲 Alternative Ways to Get Around
Public buses are great for major stops, but many visitors choose car, scooter or bike rentals for flexibility — especially if you want to explore quieter inland roads or tiny beaches that buses don’t serve.
