Hovolo Beach (often spelled Chovolo too) is a beautiful, natural beach on the west coast of Skopelos Island in the Northern Sporades, Greece. It sits by the small settlement of Neo Klima – Elios, nestled among dramatic white cliffs, pine trees and crystal-clear turquoise water — one of the island’s most scenic and unspoiled spots.

How to Get There: It’s about 18 km southwest of Skopelos Town (Skopelos Port) on the main island.
From Glossa Village (and its port Loutraki), Hovolo Beach is roughly 7 km to the south, about a 12 minute drive. There is public transportation that will take you to Neo Klima-ELios village then you walk about 10min to get there. Taxi: Limited availability on Skopelos; booking in advance or arranging transport from your accommodation is recommended. Or you will need to rent a car or scooter or ATV from Skopelos Tours , +30 2424 22900 . There is plenty of parking around Neo Klima-ELios village so you have no problem finding a spot right near the path leading down to the shore.
🏖️ Tips for Visitors
Hovolo is largely unorganized — no sunbeds/umbrellas, so bring water, snacks, sun protection, and sea shoes.
The walk to the best part of the beach involves shallow rock crossings, so comfortable footwear helps.
The setting is ideal for snorkeling, photography, and quiet relaxation. You can also rent a Kayak or paddleboards there as on your way walking you will see the Kayak centre there.
